Born in Athens, Greece.

Katerina is a percussionist and performer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Studied classical percussion with Gert Mortensen and got a Master’s degree from The Royal Danish Academy of Music. She got her first degree in percussion from the Acropolis Art Center with Konstantinos Vorissis. Katerina has a degree in musicology from the Kapodistrian University of Athens.

She collaborates with various ensembles, playing from early music to new and contemporary music. She is active as a soloist and in 2018 made a danish premiere of Peter Klatzow’s marimba concerto with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. Katerina has performed solo and with ensembles in many countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Estonia and Iceland.
She currently performs and collaborates with the upcoming media artist George Koutsouris on his installations and live performances.

As a solo musician she has competed in many international competitions, such as ARD International Music Competition in Munich, and won a prize in PAS in Patras in the kategory Keyboards, Advanced in 2011. She won the YAMAHA Foundation in Europe Music Competition in Greece, in 2012.

Katerina is active as an orchestra musician and has assisted the Royal Danish Orchestra, played with Copenhagen Philarmonic, and has been awarded the Orchestral repertoire Prize from the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, for best improvement in 2016.
During the studies in Greece she has been an assistant for the Greek National Opera and performed with ASON, Athens Youth Symphonic Orchestra and Radio Youth Symphonic Orchestra.

Katerina is teaching percussion in Østerbro Musikskole and privately in musikundervisning.dk
